On Saturday, I played in the first of 3 disc golf tournaments I entered this week. I shot ok - definitely could've been better.

But...I eagled hole 17 with the whole field watching, and that was awesome.

613ft Par 4. Had a great drive (for me) at 390ish, then threw it in from ~220 around the tree.

Nice.

Yesterday I had an 'interview' with a company that clearly does not exist.

Their website looked ok on the surface, but was an empty shell. They gave an address for their corporate HQ and it was a derelict office building.

I had a little fun with their chatbot that was running the interview, which was actually just a Teams text chat.

Ultimately, I feel a sense of loss, since 20 years ago, I'd have had to go to the derelict building in person, making me the main character in a dystopian film.

Our monthly mini painting hangout went in a different direction today. Tiny guerilla art installation at our friend's cocktail bar.

Dead job pro tip: when you're on a video call with someone who needs to spend 5mins talking themselves through a basic concept, you can actively appear as if you're slowly dying inside and/or falling asleep.

There's a good chance they'll stop rambling a little sooner.

Yesterday my eldest had his first track meet - throwing shot-put.

For context, the coach is somewhat known to be a bit of a jackass.

When we got there, my son greeted us and we chatted while waiting for his event to start. They did warm-up throws, then started the event.

After the first round, his number wasn't called. He talked to the coach, who wasn't paying much attention to the event, and was told that he should've 'paid attention' and 'not wandered off'.

More work on skelman. Finally got my order of the new TMM paints from Vallejo. The shade colors are kinda great for glazing in shadows - they're like hyper-saturated inks, which plays really well with the color style I'm aiming for.

Probably going to do another round of the color shadows on the metals, then a deep shadow pass, then highlight time for the less-lit areas to define shapes. Whew.
