Ugh got an invite to #WSocial it's bad in all the ways you've probably already read on Mastodon. The @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu @digitaleu@ec.social-network.europa.eu got this all badly wrong. W Social isn't social media it's corporate social media obsessed with control, power and massive privacy intrusions.

@eff@mastodon.social The simple solution if politicians are really interested in the wellbeing of children is forcing tech companies to create parental controls that are actually easy to use or are pre installed for when devices are bought for children. It's bizarre how parental controls are almost totally ignored when debating how to protect children from online harm. Clearly parents need educating too.
