I'm building this apps UI to have actual depth and to look interactive.

The color picker screen also has the basics implemented. Just need to switch out the text labels, for buttons which bring up number keyboard popovers for the iPad, and the normal number keyboard on iPhone.

Need to improve the export options (also my custom segment control doesn't scroll and currently clips, so I need to fix that). I want to add the ability to view all the exif (and maybe edit it?). Also the ability to view the "assets" associated with the image, if it comes from the Photo library, and not a file.

I've been prototyping the image metadata screen and have gotten most of what I want in now.

There are some tools like this. But most are iPhone first. With big giant UI controls and multi-screen low density UI. So my goal is to build a macOS/iPadOS app with Catalyst. Then make it work on smaller iPad layouts, then on the iPhone. In that order or priority.

My project this week is to finish off my private random "dev tools" into an actual iPadOS app I can release. There are loads of them on macOS. Collections of little helpers and CLI tools basically, but as a GUI. I've always wanted a desktop style, iPad first version.

@stroughtonsmith I completely forgot about this. What's worse is I already have it favourited 😅 I have too many bookmarks and can never find anything. Downloaded now!

The reason I started building this tab bar component is I have a backlog of "desktop style app" iPad apps I want to make. But to me one of the core power user capabilities is being able to do multiple things at once. Having multiple instances of the app window open. Each window having window tabs, so you can do multiple things at once and switch between them. Hence the need for a Browser style tab control.

I love this UI so much! Glassy and modern, but things have borders, depth, shadows, the blur is strong enough and tinted so you can actually read the text.

Well... I say finished. I do want to add in the future:

• a full Safari style zoom out grid mode
• "drag and drop out to new window"
• "drag between windows"

But it's finished enough for me to get back to working on the app I created it for in the first place.

Finished my iOS 6 visual style and Safari features style tab view controller. Create a new tab, drag to reorder, close tabs.

Now with drag to reorder

It's so refreshing to be able to actually tell which tab is selected, and what state it is in again!

I've maintained iOS 6 is still the best UI style we've had on iOS, so decided to actually put that into action and just design my next app as if it is still iOS 6.

@b3ll it’s amazing what you can do with minimal hardware nowadays! Also love the write up, this is a really cool project!
