@HakeemG @goatrodeo @Remittancegirl To the broader question, the US has always been a big, vulgar money grab, despite all the pretty stories in our textbooks. As Howard Zinn said, the system is designed to preserve itself, regardless of who's in office, and time has borne that out. So I think part of the attraction of this clumsy and crass administration is that people can look at it and feel righteous indignation, when the truth is that US capitalism has never been any better than this.

@HakeemG @goatrodeo @Remittancegirl I couldn't stand the undecided voters late in the 2024 election cycle. If a 34-count convicted felon who cheated on his wife with a prostitute is not a deal breaker for you, then you're not "undecided." Own what you are, and maybe even have the courage to admit what is more important to you than someone's obvious lack of fitness for the office.

@edchivers@dice.camp I ran for about 15 years but recently developed problems with my lower back that may (or may not) be related. Just got a steroid injection and am starting to feel the effects. Out of caution, I'm going to switch to swimming.
