I had a blast at Galactic Camp, the furry convention on an actual aircraft carrier: USS Hornet in Alameda, California!

Met some wonderful new people; sat in the cockpit of an F-8 Crusader; rocked my @garudaworkshop@bird.makeup helmet; hung out with @kyellgold@furries.club and did a couple of #FurryWriting panels. I even sold a book or two!

I did a tour of the mislaid Jubilee Line platforms at Charing Cross yesterday (now used for filming, experimental layouts and keeping spare trains), and obviously seized the opportunity to get my Daniel Craig on.

Yesterday I did something I hadn't done for a while: took a punt on an Oxfam CD by an artist I didn't know. And it turns out to be just my sort of thing.

I went to Gibraltar for 3 nights! We spent one day on the Rock, which was exhausting but very cool. Stalagmites and stalactites! The underground bar at the WW2 Tunnels Museum! Apes! And best of all, a recognisable location from the opening of The Living Daylights.

- Drop bike off at garage before it opens, keys through letterbox.
- Realise I have not brought my wallet or phone and have no means of getting home
- Wait for bus. I'm so sorry but I forgot my wallet, can I please get on?
- Driver nods silently, looking at me through his cool shades
- At my stop, thank driver profusely and wish him a wonderful day
- Receive another cool silent nod
- Home. Coffee

I complain about the 246 a LOT but good job today!

My manager knows about furry but can't remember what it's called so refers to it as 'fox cubs' 🦊🦊

That meeting was like watching particularly passive-aggressive paint dry.

I had a brilliant time at ScotiaCon over the weekend! Highlights:
- signing copies of my book in the Dealers' Den (thanks to @thebookbadgers@bookstodon.com for arranging!)
- meeting several online friends for real
- saying hi to a friend at FurSquared over the live video link
- running the Writers' Social with @lupestripe@meow.social and seeing people connect

I was just congratulating myself on keeping the aged smart TV I bought on eBay for £20 a couple of years ago rather than succumbing to the lure of whatever 4K OLEDs are and I realised, oh my God, I am just like my parents who stuck with a black and white set into the early '80s from sheer snobbery.

Whenever we have a charity cake sale in the office we end up with so MUCH cake that by the end of the day we're begged to take it away for free, which defeats the point a bit (but hey, cake).
