@artemis I have this fear, too. And that fascism works best when it's fighting against something, which is part of the flailing of Trump 47---he picks a fight with Minneapolis, it doesn't go great, he picks a fight with Iran, it doesn't go great. Once the Democrats actually have some power Trump can push against, they'd better make sure he doesn't set the terms as (once again) a belligerent truth-teller against the elites.

@artemis I think their plan is about as logical as a child smashing a toy that's stopped working. They have no idea how Iran actually works (or nation states in general) so it's just smash and cry until a parent shows up. I also think Vance's main goal is trying to build credibility for himself as president. It is conspicuous that Rubio isn't in the mix... He gets a lot more credit than he deserves for being the adult in the room, but maybe he's smart enough to keep his head down on this one.

Dad report:

Earlier this week, he asked me if he should respond to a DCCC mailer saying they had a 10-to-1 match for small donations. I told him he shouldn't, but if he actually likes any candidates, I can get him their donation info.

This morning, I told him the DCCC took $2.5 million from Palantir. He immediately understood what I was talking about before.
