@iFixit Can totally confirm the problems with ANC after repair. Had to replace one driver in my WH-1000XM5. Replacement itself wasn't too bad, but ANC performance now notably worse on that side. BTW, burnt out drivers on those headphones seems to be a common problem, just like the touchpad getting ghost touches, very annoying, I will never buy headphones with touchpad ever again, real buttons please!

@jwildeboer @Sorro It's a bit hard to say because of the many, many flavors of Android in the wild, but it is very likely not affected for various reasons: by default, SELinux is configured to not allow alg_socket for sandboxed apps (see https://android.googlesource.com/platform/system/sepolicy/+/refs/tags/android-16.0.0_r4/private/app_neverallows.te#141) there are usually no suid binaries on Android, and algif_aead is usually not provided in the first place. Of course, a very old Android version might be affected, but in that case, you're open to various other exploits anyway...

The original in Björks channel, for some unfathomable reason, is age restricted and requires sign-in. You can't make this shit up. Had to rip my old DVD... never get rid of your old physical media.

There's a ton of great software that does not follow it, and I've seen enough failing init scripts in my life to convince me that endlessly stringing tools together with pipes is not a robust way of writing software.
