Anticipating the next hype cycle Günseli Yalcinkaya´s excellent analysis looks at quantum (computing) propaganda in defence and else. Note German defence start ups propensity for including quantum whatever into their branding efforts. https://carrier-bag.net/post-ai-quantum-and-multipolar-art-world/

Quinn Slobodians terrific new piece argues that the globalisation period artworld was imperial in a Hapsburg K.u.K sense. Which next Red Vienna can we imagine to pick up it´s pieces? https://carrier-bag.net/world-baby/
Simon Denny goes where few art historians dare venture - straight into the heart of current defence aeroaesthetics. Anduril, Palantir, Quantum Systems and Helsing design slop collapses futurism into high fantasy. Zeitenwende gets redesigned as Lord of the Rings merch. Hands down best take on the topic!

Today´s treat will be some excellent non-productivity hacks by Mediengruppe Bitnik. Elite ball knowledge on how to barely work from the Simple Sabotage OSS field manual. Finally we figured out the tactical value of conferences! Networking is Notworking!
In this wonderful talk from "Art in the age of Average" Constant Dullaart manages to compress a whole art school degree into 3min of a beautiful vinyl pressed song. Honestly, all advice any artist will ever need is at around 12min into the talk:

Plus a whole warehouse of inspired insights!
Next up in the "Art in the Age of Average" series, Navine G. Dossos´ and James Bridle´s brilliant presentation on vernacular art practices as an antidote to automated enshittification (AI-shittification?). Below an example of wonderful island art exploring the universe of Poseidon grass.

Next up on the playlist for "art in the Age of Average" a legendary take by Gregory Chatonsky on vectofascism. Its such a pleasure to have such an intellectually rigorous and substantial piece; so much to discuss here!

Gregory even provided tldr slides!
Over the next days I will post recordings of our conference "Art in the Age of Average" one by one. Starting with required viewing Antonio Somaini about the politics (and material configuration) of latent spaces.
More to come.
Plus preparing special on "Multipolar Art" with contributions by Josh Citarella, Quinn Slobodian, Reena Devi and many others.
Amazing lectures yesterday by Antonio Somaini and Gregory Chatonsky at #ArtintheAgeofAverage discussing politics of latent spaces and GenAI authoritarianism. To be continued today with presentations by Navine Dossos/James Bridle, Mediengruppe Bitnik, Simon Denny, Constant Dullart, Mat Dryhurst and our class participants after 12pm. Conference recordings to be published at carrier-bag.net
Sorry its me again. Thank you for your attention. Here is more from our new platform carrier-bag.net, an amazing video conversation with Vladan Joler about "Calculating Empires: A Genealogy of Technology and Power Since 1500".
Many congratulations, Vladan to Silver Lion in Venice for this work and much love and energy to Novi Sad and everyone who hangs in there! More soon, sorry.
Sorry I will be posting a lot over coming days. To headline our conference in Munich on 3. and 4.6 we will start off in Salzburg discussing Total Technology, AI, antisocial media and global fascism on 2.6. organised by Paul Feigelfeld´s cluster. One of the underlying ideas being that robust regional networks are crucial to counter Total Technology and it´s hegemonial discourses.
More text and videos from https://carrier-bag.net/ coming soon.
