@anachrocomputer@mastodon.social you have to be careful to have pull ups on the CS pin (and any logic that drives it) or you can get phantom writes as the power turns off, since the write cycle is so fast.

@anachrocomputer@mastodon.social I love FRAM. Had an FM1608 16k parallel FRAM I used in lots of z80 projects as a faster alternative to UV EEPROM. A large flash chip for code and a little FRAM for "save slots" would make a nice game cartridge.

@m@martinh.net I thought someone had done an SD card Hexpansion but I can't find it now. It's basically the same circuit as mine but with a card slot instead of the SPI flash chip. On the subject of esoteric memory I was working on a Psion Organiser II Data pack Hexpansion but I suffered a horrible sense of perspective.
