The first journalist/interview/article regarding #wero I have seen that asked a banking representative to acknowledge the existence of a world outside Apple's and Google's ecosystem.

Of course "it's hardly worthwhile to offer banking apps for these devices." but at least we're not absolutely invisible anymore.

Sadly no follow up question for why then Wero users are forced onto apps instead of integrating it into web based online banking.

Looks like in this github discussion people are already finding out what outsourcing their work to a service where *checks notes* tokens are only going to get cheaper over time really means.

Ich habe aber auch nichts gegen das zusätzliche Anbieten von Wero zum bezahlen, aber ich finde das Wichtigste ist immer, dass Überweisung oder Lastschrift (ohne third party Identitätsüberprüfung) erhalten werden muss, das ist nämlich das grundlegende System, das jeder verwenden kann.

Das wird aktuell von Google geduldet, ist aber trotzdem gegen deren TOS. Icb bin mittlerweile der Meinung, wenn Banken ausschließlich in den Play Store ausschließlich für Google Play Accounts hochladen, sollte man das respektieren und keine halblegalen Hacks verwenden, um deren Entscheidung zu umgehen.

... until I found that spectacle automatically decodes QR codes and shows the text atop the preview when one is visible on a screenshot now.

Thanks spectacle, now I don't have to make one myself.

@v_d_richards @divVerent @Civilia2000 @adfichter Wero ist by Design nur mit Apps aus Googles und Apples App stores verwendbar. Deshalb verstehe ich sowieso nicht, warum auf "Sogar ihre Google-Konten, E-Mails usw. wurden gesperrt" so oft als Reaktion kommt: "Logge dich doch einfach mit deinem Google Account beim Google Play Store ein, um eine Banking App mit Wero zu installieren". Klar gibt es inoffizelle Wege darum herum, aber vorgesehen ist das von Wero nicht.

Ich glaube nicht, dass es auch nur eine Bank gibt, die offiziell etwas anderes als von Google zertifiziertes Android mit Play Store und iOS unterstützen, wenn die Apps woanders funktionieren, wird das immer mehr oder weniger Zufall sein. Deshalb finde ich, dieses Ökosystem sollte man nicht unterstützen und probiere gar nicht erst aus, ob die Apps in Waydroid laufen, weil das sowieso keine unterstützte Lösung wäre.

@muccc Wie erstelle ich offiziell einen Signal Account, ohne Android oder iOS zu benutzen, oder allgemeiner gefragt, wie Chatten Signal Benutzer mit Leuten, die nicht Android oder iOS verwenden? Ich habe kürzlich nach Infos gesucht, warum Axolotl, einer der wenigen inoffiziellen Clients, die wohl Accounts erstellen konnten, nicht mehr maintained ist und diese Perle im PostmarketOS Wiki gefunden https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Axolotl

@bwegtBW @VerkehrsministeriumBW Ich empfehle, jeden Entscheider zwangsweise ohne Account einmal durch die Posts und Kommentare eines Accounts zu scrollen, *ohne* mit einem eigenen Account eingeloggt zu sein. Bei Facebook und Instagram wird es einem schnell vergehen vor lauter Popups, bei LinkedIn quasi sowieso nicht möglich. Youtube fängt auch an, öfters mal Leute ohne Account auszusperren. Nicht hypothetisch gemeint, ich empfehle, das wirklich mal zu versuchen.
