Question to the AI-code folks...

Since CPUs and FPGAs are written in languages like VHDL and Verilog, are the HW folks getting any traction using AI-generated code?

If not, why not?

This is President's Day, enacted so that we might remember and reflect on the lives of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

When I think of Washington, I think of the great myths surrounding the man: cannot tell a lie, "first in war, first in peace, first in the hearts of his countrymen". I also reflect on his owning other human beings and not only being OK with it, but indignant when his *property *fled from him.

When I think of Lincoln, I think of a decent man shoved into a bad situation and playing the best hand he could. He freed the slaves, he razed the farms and cities of the rebels, yet could not soften the hearts of the greedy, racist assholes and their allies who finally murdered him.

Now I reflect on Donald Trump. Forever will that pathetic grifter be a rapist and child fucker. Unrepentant, stupid, and a stain on our nation and the lifetime shame of those who supported and enabled him.

In 100 or 200 years, if the name Trump is mentioned, the listeners will think about a president pedophile and wonder just what the hell we were all thinking.

Some weeks ago I suggested that Musk was cutting off Russian access (in Ukraine) to Starlink because he was trying to make nice with Ukraine, and that Ukraine might harbor ill-will towards Musk for interrupting comms in Crimea back in 2022.

Boy, did I misunderstand the scope of the issue. The ill-will that Russia now holds towards Mr. Musk is immense. Mr. Musk had best avoid that part of the world for the rest of his life, and probably buy himself a food taster. Yikes.
