@RolloTreadway@beige.party the bit about it being 'not real' had somehow not occurred to me. I'd got that mostly they are social performance (and that I just have to wrap my legs round the chair legs and scream internally) because if people wanted actual collective decisions someone would be tasked with finding out the necessary info in advance, so thinking of them as facilitated small talk within a power structure makes sense I think
