I used to recommend those sites, but these days I recommend OsmAPP¹ for beginners who wish to add/edit POIs.
Without an OSM account, the POI they "add" becomes a note. "Editing" without an OSM account is possible, but the changes are simply turned into a note, rather than changing OSM directly.
Logging on with a OSM account, it's directly edited into OSM.
It's point-and-click, and very intuitive.
