the best ad-free youtube client on appletv? im looking to get an appletv, cause its basically the most privacy-friendly streaming box you can get (unless you make a linux box of course), but im not sure if you can use something like smarttube on an appletv. I can barely watch youtube with the ads its insane. I found three apps on github but idk if they’re any good so here they are: SmartTube-IOS(github.com/say4n/SmartTube-iOS), yattee(github.com/yattee/yattee) and Unwatched(github.com/fer0n/Unwatched) thank guy

youtube app for plasma bigscreen/tv? basically something like smarttube but on linux

**NOTE: i have only used linux for about a year or so and im not a power user, im basically a tired windows user but i know more stuff than most beginners i feel like? like not a lot more but a little bit ** so when i don’t have anything open my memory usage is like 4-5GB out of 16, which makes it pretty bad when i want to play games (even minecraft can make it so my pc use 99% memory so i have to hard reset, although i might have fixed that) and/or when i want some demanding theming things (like a live wallpaper). “Background services” is using like 4GB and “baloo_file_extractor” is using like 1GB out of the 4. I have done a tiny tiny bit of research and ive found out that baloo is a file indexing thingo, but idrk what file indexing is used for so i don’t know if i should disable it

distro: endeavourOS de: kde plasma wayland ram: 16gb of something (i have a prebuilt so idk what ddr it is or whatever)

best distro for a streaming box with plasma bigscreen? okay just to start things of; I AM NOT AN ADVANCED USER, I WOULD SAY BOTTOM OF INTERMMEDIATE AT BEST!!! im planning on ditching my chromecast for a little mini pc with plasma bigscreen, so i’m just wondering what distro would be good for that. I’ll also be hosting my jellyfin server, and maybe game too but idrk

minimum specs for a streaming box running linux? so like ram, storage and like cpu in intel terms (basically the only one i could find and understand) i will be using plasma bigscreen, running my jellyfin server, maybe play some steam games (decently light ones), maybe run a minecraft server, watch youtube, stream like netflix etc.

best plasma bigscreen/tv friendly/remote friendly apps? im already trying out vacuumtube for youtube and fladder for jellyfin, but what more is there? Like just anything im lowkey curious

fair enough i already have a jellyfin server on my familys old ass laptop, but its kinda meh so i thought hosting it on this streaming box would be a good idea AND im always connected to the server (in my room where the box is of course). The minecraft server thingo isn’t really needed and the same applies to the steam games

im using the jellyfin app on my chromecast, and when i try to log in it says “Unable to connect to server” or something

haven’t tried anything right now, cause im fixing around with plasma bigscreen, but it should work now that its on-device and not connecting to the device instead
