This is the Regentesse Plein in The Hague, Netherlands. I live around the corner. This was a lovely, sunny day. I had do take a major piss, and so I didn't have time to put in details and over-work it, and fuck up my sketch. I had to hurry. So there it is. Is it just because I am a granddad, or is this simply the best sketch I ever did?: Aya doing a Chinese lion dance. The mask is a bit scary, but she loves lion dance. She is happy and scared at the same time. Remember that feeling?

On May 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM, an exhibition featuring urban sketches by me (watercolors of the neighborhood) will open.

Etalage 74 will host a festive opening (with snacks and drinks, just like in the movie!). In the weeks following, you're also welcome anytime: ring the doorbell, knock, call, or send a message, as I live around the corner and would love to stop by and show you everything.

If you see something to your liking, you're welcome to buy it, but you can also commission a watercolor of your own house, street, or whatever you wish.

But most importantly, just come over and enjoy! Hope to see you there.

Op 10 mei 2026, 15:00 uur, start een expositie met urban sketches van mijn hand (aquarellen van de buurt).

Etalage 74 verzorgt een feestelijke opening (met hap en drank, net als in de film!). In de weken erna kun je ook altijd terecht: aanbellen, kloppen, bellen of appen, want ik woon om de hoek en kom graag even langs om je alles te laten zien.

Als je iets moois ziet mag je het kopen, maar je kunt ook opdracht geven voor een aquarel van je eigen huis, straat, of wat je maar wenst!

Maar het belangrijkste is dat je gewoon komt genieten van leuke dingen. Ik hoop je te zien.

A sketch on a very, very cold day. This is a place near to where I live. I was accompanied by a couple of sketchers from the Urban Sketch group of The Hague; you can see the USK stamp in the lower right. We had a nice, warm drink afterwards. :)
