@kdb424@woof.tech you can always start by writing them! Here's a few questions that can help imagine/flesh out a character:

The character's place/time of life (modern day in a small mountain village? ancient Rome? the fabulous islands of Heavenlandia, where everyone is an angel or a demon?)
The character’s name
The character's appearance
The character's main personality traits (are they calm? impulsive? fearful? do they hate injustice? do they love joking?)
The character’s motivation (what do they want abstractly? fame? stability? affection? excitement?)
The character’s goal (what do they want concretely? earn money? learn magic? become President?)
The character’s conflict(s) (what prevents them from reaching this goal? a rival? an evil corporation? their own fears?)

It's also sometimes easier to imagine 2-3 at a time by setting them as friends/rivals, because you can build on their differences!

@konstruct@woof.tech besides those also done outside of transition contexts (breast implants/reduction/removal, adding/removing fat in hips, remodeling the face/nose, hair transplant...) the "big" surgeries for trans people are genital:

orchidectomy (removing testicles)
vaginoplasty (creating a vulva, clitoris, and optionally vagina, out of a penis)
metoidioplasty (partly unburying/detaching the clitoris, and optionally making it into a small penis)
phalloplasty (creating a penis using the clitoris and tissues from other parts of the body)

Once in a while, I get really pissed about where computers have been headed lately.

We have devices hundreds of times more powerful than what I used as a kid, and the technology to make modular, lightweight machines with stable operating systems, that we could easily repair and keep with us for a long time.

Yet because of fuckin capitalism, we end up with slow-ass, expensive, ad-ridden, buggy programs, and tons and tons of electronic waste.

Who cares about sustainability? Who cares about keeping your device fast, predictable, durable, customisable, easy to repair? Who cares about the incredible value of these tools that can make our lives easier?

Not corporations, for sure. They ruined most of computing/high-tech by always caring about profits, profits, nothing but profits. Computers kinda suck now, and I'm sad about it.
