@anna I hope I'm not coming as too much doom and gloom. This would be all within "makes the job harder" (and people less motivated and more isolated).
But other things, like big tech gaining influence, have been going on for a while, and this has been quite quick and intense.

@anna It's not that the projects have crumbled, but rather that their adoption negatively affects others.
I have seem devs frustrated at dependencies like ImageMagick taking a pro-AI stance for example, or the chardet drama (trying to use LLMs to change the license), or the OSI.
I haven't seen projects dropped or anything, but it feels like erosion of trust and fractured communities.
I don't doubt some projects embracing AI might have seem contributors quit or adoption drop, but I haven't seem it myself (the few people I follow aren't that close to it).

@anna I think the whole AI bubble has strained it to breaking point. Not just the constant scraping, the garbage submissions, the death of reliable resources... but also the damage done by projects that embrace it.
