I am looking for material on different ways to create titles that go with visualizations. I'd like to include this in an upcoming lecture for my course. Do you have any advice on what to read? As of now I am planning to adapt the "Four-Level Model of Semantic Content" (https://vis.csail.mit.edu/pubs/vis-text-model/) work from @lundgard@mastodon.social and @arvind@vis.social to titles. Is there anything else I should read and/or be aware of? Thanks!!!
Hey folks, I am preparing a new lecture on narrative visualization. I am interested in narrative structures and design criteria. What should I read other than the classic Segel and Heer Narrative Vis paper? I am particularly interested in ways to help students think about sequences sequences of text and charts. Some questions: what is the best way to interleave charts and text (e.g., in an article) and how do I decide what is an appropriate sequence after I have done an extensive analysis?
Has anyone published a list of highlights from the VIS’23 conference in Melbourne? There used to be quite a few summaries in past years but with fragmented social media I have not seen any. Is there anything out there or people just stopped doing those?
