@davidgerard@circumstances.run Fuck Framework, but isn't that relatively standard practice? Patenting something and then dedicating the patent to the public domain to keep it open.
IANAL, and I don't remember the exact reasoning behind that practice (been a while since I've read about patent law), but I think this lets you avoid future disputes with patent trolls or something like that? I've definitely seen patents made with the explicit purpose of making them public domain and preventing further patents before.
