@mjd I am quite curious as to who the prolific author was. the only person i know who is *notorious* for their contributions is Roger L. Bagula (whom i believe was banned following a falling-out with everyone else as the standards became more stringent and "the uncommented Mathematica code is its own documentation" stopped making the cut), who has, to his credit, come up with a lot that I would later think of (most that i remember involving changes of basis between various forms of generating function). a lot of his entries as such have quite a bit of latent potential for someone with enough wherewithal to manifest by finding various generating functions for them.
