Let me know when AI understands truth from fiction, facts from falsehoods, and can actually knows what those things are.

Until then it is just a sparkling random text generator.

All the comments I read about how to use an AI correctly say to put rules into a markdown file and have the LLM process it with your prompt. Seems like telling a dog in english not to pee on the carpet.

A friend showed me that Slay the Spire 2 has been massively review bombed on Steam because a certain person did some consulting for it.
Some men can be so soft these days that they post negative comments on a video game because their feeling got hurt, while they do nothing when governments actually erode their personal freedoms.
If they actually knew how many LGBTQI+ people make their games they would probably have a seizure or something.

@pervognsen I do believe Windows now has memory compression built in. But that was a good read.

@Catvalente The word I use is "fabricate" to describe what LLMs actually do. It describes that they build sentences which are also lies and untruths.

@vitaut Yep. I'm writing my applications in Win32 / WTL still because it is simple and it works well. The developer experience of WinUI3 is still terrible and requires literal installation before you can even debug the executable. I'm also not yet ready to add a huge dependency like Qt or other UI framework.

@molecularmusing@mastodon.gamedev.place @aras@mastodon.gamedev.place that would work perfectly with ai generated low poly models and textures right? Get ai to do all the work and creativity, that's what they're aiming for.

@mjk@hachyderm.io I thought as much that this technique would not be available on the GPU. Though I wasn't sure if you were making an interpreter to run on the GPU or a compiler compiling for the GPU.

@mjk@hachyderm.io Have you tried using function pointer tables to guarantee making a jump table? Kind of like I wrote up https://www.dominikgrabiec.com/posts/2025/09/11/compile_time_function_tables.html

@soop@wetdry.world I like Louis Rossman's use of the term "repair" rather than the industry's term of "hacking" when it comes to recovering functionality that you bought and paid for before the company revoked it with an automatic firmware update.
