Oh no, really? I thought it was "lucrative ads business" that Meta was entitled to when EU was combating this and "clueless EU bureacrats with their GDPR" when it was EU trying to curb the ad/surveillance corporations.

This decision should still serve as good precedent for location data held by other companies, and I hope the decision serves as good precedent for any searchable Personally Identifiable Information susceptible to fishing-expedition warrants in general.

A completely ad hoc policy of “Whatever the White House says, goes” is the makings of a terrible regulatory framework for AI.
But when Apple denies its users access to any other models/agents/assitants, its totally fine.
Someone needs to re-index Internet Archive up to year 2022/2023, and provide results as a search engine. And freeze it there.
With Google turning its already useless search into AI slop machine, that would be the only useful search engine around.
