I2C specifies a fall time of 12 to 300 ns at 3.3 V, rise time of 20 to 300 ns in fast mode, no minimum rise time in standard mode.
Any idea why the minimum rise/fall times? I'd need extra resistors and caps to make an FPGA go that slow. Slow slew minimum drive is still sub-nanosecond.

AWS billing has a bug. That was a bit of a scare when I got the notification that my monthly threshold of $50 had been exceeded by $275 billion. Slop coding?
I'd love to delete my account but it's the only affordable (aside from 🏴☠️) way to access Vivado Enterprise. They quit posting AMIs at 2025.1 but that one still works. Costs $16 per month for storage plus about $0.80 per hour for usage.

I'm not able to follow links to Analog Devices datasheets due to their WAF blocking access unless I've browsed to the product page first.
Not being able to follow links from Digikey, Kicad, etc is getting annoying. Yet another reason to locally archive datasheets for anything you use.
Anyone else getting this?

@timonsku@mastodon.social Needs DDR4 or DDR5. I have sourced some DDR5 chips via Aliexpress, am proceeding with prototyping but it feels like production may not be practical unless things change significantly. I'm running into many non-memory parts being out of stock too.

@timonsku@mastodon.social I'd like to launch a product of my own at some point but it just seems impossible at the moment due to USpol, AI consuming all the parts.

@timonsku@mastodon.social I made the comment that the electronics in the US might become like the cars in Cuba (ancient but kept running) after the announcement of the 150% tariffs. Seems like more of the same from the clowns in charge. It all seems to strongly favor big business over small.

@gsuberland @funkylab @dysfun I don't think there's any significant difference between 12 V @ 50 A and 48 V @ 12.5 A in IEC62368-1. Both are ES1 (touch safe), PS3 (significant fire hazard requiring a fire enclosure).

@cmb@cathode.church I spent about 30 minutes looking over it but it would take at least a full day to do right looking over all the datasheets.
Only possible show stopper I found is the 10 uF 0603 cap is likely about than 1 uF at 15 V due to DC bias. I don't know the specific part that will be used.
Layout could definitely use more ground vias, has some ground slots due to rows of vias. Obviously a challenge as this thing is densely packed.
