Software quality has taken a fucking NOSEDIVE since just a few years ago holy shit.

Why were the comments on the YouTube mobile app in Helvetica until I click "Show More" yesterday? Why was anyone/any AI even bothering to touch the comment display code anyway? Why was there a giant white bar taking up half my screen in the Spotify app the other day ("our devs don't write code" btw)?

Fuck AI. It's a terrible way to learn how to code, and a terrible way to write anything but MAYBE boilerplate.

This should allow for running virtually any EFI-capable OS on the original Apple TV!

@guidol70@mastodon.online unfortunately it currently imvolves an apple internal diagnostics program to bypass the EFI, which i’m not sure if i can distribute without getting sued, so i’m not sure if i’m gonna release this. it should be fine because it is for an abandoned device but i’m not sure i want to risk getting a cease and desist or worse

Maybe I trust people the exact right amount. Maybe I don't actually have trust issues and everyone is actually as Fundamentally Fucking Evil as I think them to be. Maybe my paranoia isn't an issue and is actually a completely rational reaction to those around me.

I often feel like people are living in two different parallel universes when it comes to Linux. Some people will swear to you that stock kernels never work on any hardware and they’ve had to use downstream patches for every machine they’ve ever seen, while others have never done that for anything ever.
