@MacropodCare@mastodon.au @bbcnews@mastodon.bot Author of the bot here. The news summariser sometimes selects “softer” words. The BBC source data says “fatalities” not “lives lost”. I am working on functionality to make the summaries adhere better to the BBC style guide and to reduce “softening” when it tries to summarise stark facts like “fatalities”. I sometimes but rarely make post edits, usually after a comment like this. I made a minor edit. Thanks.
