@MartinEscardo Marcelo Fiore directed me to this. If I remember correctly, he was made aware of it by Hyland. I doubt that there is an earlier reference (at least one that is relatively easily accessible). @jonasfrey @jonmsterling @zwarich

@jonasfrey I don't think so given that Andy Pitts was one of my examiners and he did not suggest this or that I was close to this. I am no expert on this but doesn't this use PERs over a fixed base set? For me "a PER" means "a set with a PER". In fact this distinction is the source of some confusion for some people. I am not sure if there is a good way to disambiguate ……… I am all ears for any suggestions. @jonmsterling @MartinEscardo @zwarich

@jonmsterling This is why I have moved on to a third such variation. Subsetoids are just so last year (i.e., when I submitted my thesis). @jonasfrey @MartinEscardo @zwarich

@jeanas This is one of Ambrus' long-term problems of interest. He even has a potential solution technique which is yet to be fully tested (the process may not terminate). @jonmsterling @MartinEscardo @carloangiuli

@Paul_Taylor@mathstodon.xyz At a "University" I refused to use their M$ "e-mail system" as it failed to be a bonā fidē e-mail system. My supervisor agreed with me that it was not an e-mail system as it did not operate using standard protocols. IIUC, M$ had an exclusivity clause that prevented any other e-mail system from operating within their TLD that did not already predate the contract with M$. Thus there was nothing to be done: use it or else!

@andrejbauer Am I allowed to believe that ideal Mathematical objects exist but in such a way that Mathematics is not the study thereof, but the study of our mental conceptions thereof?
