Different in that it's not an AI model, it's just a tool you can use to run AI models like Claude.

Never used it. I just apply on a given company’s website, after finding out about the job on various job boards. I’m not even sure where LinkedIn is supposed to come into play?

I said in my first comment it would have to be “installing from outside the Play store”, otherwise it wouldn’t have clear meaning.

Yeah, and currently you don’t need to know what an apk is to get install them.

That’s already the case. The new thing is that they want developers to share their ID to have their apps be installable on Android in the first place, no Play Store involved.

That seems a little disingenuous. Just because email can't be protected well in most cases, doesn't mean you can't have a service that cares about privacy and does whatever is possible. Google can train AI on your email, and then when I go make an alternative that doesn't do that, you will say I don't care about privacy? What is that, no true Scotsman? Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. Even with all these issues, Proton is more private than Gmail.

Yeah but so could my ISP, and all in all I find it more likely my ISP would, than that NordVPN would. I don't trust either, but I definitely trust my ISP less.

I need a VPN to get around geoblocks and to torrent without my ISP sending me letters. NordVPN always worked perfectly fine for me. I don't see the problem? Not saying other ones aren't better, but it seems perfectly adequate. Looks like the concerns are about who owns it? But how does that make it a worse solution for my torrent box?

We meant the same thing then. Nothing prevents Motorola from making changes to GrapheneOS, making it closed source, and blocking software/firmware changes on their phone so that you can’t install the open source original.

How is Linux going to do this? There’s no server for the os to send the information to report the age of its users The law doesn’t require sending the data anywhere, so that’s not a problem. no way of forcing its user base to comply and no single person or entity to fine, arrest or otherwise force into compliance. The law doesn’t require anything of users, it requires something of OS providers. OS providers have addresses and entities to fine.

GrapheneOS is open source, Motorola - just like anyone else - can make changes to it before they install it on their devices.

I don’t know, I think it looks cool. Completely impractical, shitty car built by a Nazi that nobody should even consider buying. But in terms of looks alone I like it. I’d gladly drive one in, e.g. a video game (if the look wasn’t associated with Musk, unfortunately it’s tainted now), or watch a movie where it’s the weird vehicle the superhero uses. Why would you build a car looking like that in the real world I have no idea, but it looks cool.

They were not only not allowing it, they immediately blocked the user’s attempt to put it on their servers and banned the user for even trying. That’s as far from allowing it as possible.

Yeah, but that’s an argument against being able to live forever, not an argument against evolution being able to happen, if you did.

There is also nothing inherently wrong with “optimization” and “automation”. It’s just that they are buzzwords and how the tech bros approach these topics.

Hmm, why can’t there be evolution without death? As long as organism reproduce, genes are passed on, and some reproduce more successfully than others, why would it matter if existing individuals stay around or not? I don’t see how it makes evolution fundamentally impossible.
