As someone who habitually tries out new stuff just so I don’t drift slowly out of touch, I still haven’t figured out anything I’d use an LLM for. Like I just can’t find a single scenario where I would benefit from a words-generator.

@artemis@dice.camp If there’s one thing the IR understands it’s the importance of logistics, since that’s why the SoH is globally important in the first place. Like why target troops directly when it’s so much easier to just cut off their food supply and wait?

The lawsuits and complaints about ICE's use of "excessive force" are good because they work towards accountability, but the language also contains the tacit agreement with the claim that they had a reason to be there in the first place. That the problem was just that they were being too violent and not that they were in these communities at all.

We've had a generation of media platforming people through reality shows who were selected for being a horrifying curiosity, and this process of incidental cultural subversion was so effective that we made one of them president.

@AnarchoNinaAnalyzes I think there's probably a meaningful distinction to be drawn between "he's a Russian asset" and "it was in Russia's interest for him to be president because of the damage he was guaranteed to do to the country, NATO, etc, by his very nature so they did some stuff to try and get him elected but there are no direct ties", but... *shrug*. It's probably better for us as a nation to face the fact that We're Just Like This and maybe it's time to do something about that.
