Now you can just buy a CH341 dongle and clip it onto the BIOS flash chip if you need to unbrick the motherboard. It’s easy as long as the motherboard uses an SOIC or DIP flash chip.

Making a gun is already illegal in California and Washington. This stupid law won't make any difference. If someone is willing to break the law to make a gun, they probably are not going to follow this law either. 3D printed guns are rarely used to commit crimes anyways. It takes a lot of time and effort to get one to work well.
This is probably about companies like Bamboo Labs wanting an excuse to lock down printers even more. It will also make it difficult or impossible for smaller companies to sell 3D printers in California to get rid of competition.

I used to run RetroPie on a Raspberry Pi 1 and it was able to play most of the SNES games I tried. Of course that was with no shaders or upscaling.

Because websites and browsers have gotten way more bloated. If you don't need a web browser, you can get by with a lot less RAM.

Optar would be a much better choice than QR codes if you want to store lots of data on microfiche. It stores about 200 kB per page.

Libreoffice Draw is the best option. You need to make sure all of the fonts used in the PDF are installed on your computer before editing it. The embedded fonts can’t be used for editing. If you are missing a font, Draw will try to find a substitute, which will most likely mess up the spacing. You can go to File->Properties in a PDF viewer like Okular or Xreader to get a list of the fonts that the PDF uses.
Most PDFs aren’t intended to be edited. The incorrect text splits are an issue caused by the program that created the PDF.

That’s what MidnightBSD did.
California residents are not authorized to use MidnightBSD for desktop use in the state of California effective January 1, 2027. California law CA AB1043 requires a complex age verification system implemented for operating systems with no exceptions for small open source projects. At this time, we don’t have development time or a plan in place for this.

That’s the best way. It just adds a ReplayGain tag to the files instead of reencoding them at a different volume.

Cloud storage is fine for your offsite copy as long as you encrypt your data before uploading it. The problem is that a lot of people are using it as their only copy.
