@Di4na I'm not advocating for the legislation... I'm purely observing what is being proposed in it, and wondering why. the industry doesnt seem to have given much feedback yet.

@Di4na I think that for SMEs, it would be very challenging indeed to comply. But for the large multinationals, who knows?.. Which in turn may be anti-competitive (against innovative startups for example..) I find it strange that apparently there has not been very much industry discussion yet on the proposed legislation, its feasibility, its consequences if enacted..

@Di4na The proposed legislation puts the onus on the end vendor to warrant that their (commercial) product is cyber resilient, with heavy financial penalties if it proves otherwise. This will in turn require them to verify that all FOSS they use in their product(s), is sufficiently robust - which presumably will incur cost/fees. It's a *huge* challenge, I agree with you, and I'm uncertain whether policy makers understand the implications -- hence current call for public comment is critical.

@Di4na Hi Thomas, do you have any views on the EU's proposed "Cyber Resiliency Act" which require all software (including FOSS...) used in the EU (for the internet and web) to meet specific quality standards and carry a "CE" mark?
