strange then that the seams only run one way. Most printers have fairly cubic build volumes. Though they could have done it to just reduce the amount of overhang and supports that would be needed. The inner surfaces could have been against the hot plate.

If it helps, it looks like they probably printed the core section at a higher infill to handle the pressure and the left and right sides at a lower infill. You can see seams.
