Is the goal to build ever-smarter AI at any cost, or to build useful AI within sustainable resource constraints?
Because if it's the latter, then yes—we're approaching the limits of what society can/should invest in the current scaling paradigm.
Am I being too pessimistic? Or is this the realistic assessment of where we are?
