Show me your favorite #science themed coffee (or tea) #cup. This here is mine. I got it many years ago from my institute (maybe for the 40th anniversary of the Effelsberg radio telescope). The small telescope can spin 360°.

@vicgrinberg@mastodon.social Psssst... 🤫 They are not supposed to know that. They will find out when they have their own students. That's early enough. 😀

@sundogplanets This is probably the most funny, clever, and serious April fools joke that I have ever seen. Well done! But do I understand this correctly, that the risk of a cow getting hit by a falling satellite is orders of magnitudes higher that a cow getting eaten by a shark? 😱 By the way, I need some of this NZ cheese. @astrokiwi.bsky.social

@hannorein@mastodon.social Shouldn't the net momentum be different from an internal explosion and an external hit? But this would require that you can measure the mass and velocity of the fragments. Is that possible? @sundogplanets@mastodon.social

@nblr Unfortunately, they missed the opportunity to use a fully electric truck for the transport. That would have been even more futuristic.

@sundogplanets This is terrifying. Not only for the orbits, the upper atmosphere and astronomy, but in general. Because one can be certain that these people use the same tactics in many different topics. We just never hear about this, because nobody is yelling about it on Mastodon.

@cgbassa@mastodon.social So each pixel is the average image of the whole sky at that time? But why is the sky always bluest right after sunrise, and before sunset?

@SistaWendy Nice one, but I would be afraid that it triggers somo people to drive extra fast, because they want to see when the sticker turns blue.
