Took a look at Threads out of nauseating curiosity. Endless posts by gronks I'd never follow. Excruciating know-it-all C-list celebs. A total absence of humour. Even the deranged posts seem to be oddly watered-down.
In short, it's awful but in distinct ways from the hellsite. Like Facebook itself, just because the sharp edges have been rounded off don't imagine it's not an insidious algorithmic vector for brainrot.

I can't get over how many people think carbon offset schemes are anything other than the NFTs of carbon policy.
Even if they aren't flimflammery and outright lies (they are), they're claiming to offset the impact of extracting carbon from the slow carbon cycle by "capturing" it in the fast carbon cycle. So, taking carbon that's been in the slow carbon cycle for up to hundreds of millions of years and putting it in the fast carbon cycle for maybe 100 years.
