Need some help from #mac nerds out there. Old Time Machine drive died and just set up another. I noticed the hard drive -- not SSD -- gets very noisy during the hourly backups. Was formatting the drive as APFS probably why and Should I reformat as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)/HFS+?
Noticed my other large hard drive I use for large file storage doesn't seem as noisy in use and that was done as a HFS+ format.
The Verge’s paywall has to be one of the worst in the industry. I maybe click on a link once a week and am always blocked. I recall in their announcement post they claimed it would be a generous rolling page view limit. Apparently I’m forever over that no matter what device I try from.
