just saw that Mastodon uses React...ugh
I may have exaggerated my concerns about @Codeberg@social.anoxinon.de. It's great.
However I was initially attracted to it by its use of a permissively licensed code forge, gitea, which remains under the MIT license.
Both are awesome projects!
This is too bad. I think Codeberg ended up being more like Bluesky than like Mastodon though. They went into separate and confusing copyleft licenses with Forgejo (GPLv3) and Codeberg Pages (EUPL), which discourage people running their own servers. While Mastodon is AGPL, it's a different sort of service, that doesn't lend itself quite as much to running custom plugins on it as a code collaboration tool. I think I'll experiment with using my own servers and using IPFS.
