It's not only about big corporate-driven binaries sold commercially, but can also mean a project that's source-available on a private Git remote, and shared only with the creatures, who the owner agrees to share with, e.g. a cooperative of queer, furry, therian hackers, and no normies or companies can access it from the outside.
