okay so since the IPv8 draft had exactly one good idea, I present to you Styx - the cursed river that helps carry your IPv4-only packets into the IPv6-only future.
https://github.com/apalrd/styx46
basically how it works:
- you have some old ass computer which cannot do IPv6 - maybe you are a vintage collector and like SGI workstations, for example
- the world has moved on, and web sites are now ipv6-only, so you cannot browse your favorite content
- you do a dns query to styx for an A record, but none are to be found
- styx finds a glorious AAAA record, so it creates a new dynamic mapping in tayga to bridge that specific ipv6 destination to the underworld
- your client gets back 10.17.43.33, which styx+tayga will then translate to 2a0f.... for your session
disclaimer: this was made in two days and only tested by doing apt update + apt upgrade, and pinging google

I've decided to make a secret thing (will be on video soon) using some vintage technology, and got the brilliant idea to pcb mill it
Uhh single sided layout is a nightmare
Got a new roommate last week, figured Friday the 13th is a good time to introduce him.
This is Ozzy, the prince of darkness. He’s slowly getting used to his new home, and is incredibly difficult to find when he hides. He’s very Finnish, so he tolerates a small amount of social interaction but loves the sauna.
anyone have a favorite way of managing network namespaces in systemd?
Riding the struggle bus to get my Finnish digital id to work in Firefox or Safari without crashing to find that it just works in Chrome
No idea what’s broken now but it’s definitely frustrating.
