I don't frequent any meme subs so I don't know what moderator or posts you speak of.
I don't usually either, and in fact sunk some time into finding it and couldn't be more specific (super healthy behavior ik >u<)
if I'm not physically painting it or drawing it, it's generated by the computer. how much of that influences me and how much of that influence is the machine is variable depending on a lot of factors.
How much of that influence normalizes implicit endorsement of the AI industry, or how much is stolen from uncredited sources never given the opportunity to consent, depends on exactly one factor.
I'm actually sympathetic, I get it's more work to sketch it on printer paper, to cut and paste it in Canva, GIMP, or MS-Paint -- I've got a bunch of funny ideas in the "someday" pile myself, just a little too much work to do right now but not quite funny enough to put aside the ethical implications of my actions or compromise the quality of my work for :c
sorry my meme is not up to standards
Deja vu >u< read that on a meme sub this morning, mod said "well, we held a community vote..." -- things are different here of course, we interact with different spheres: I can expect not to see genAI assets, you can do you, and if it had been obvious (disclosure, maybe?) I just wouldn't see it c:
My beef is just with that, the permeable boundary of spheres with different social norms, which (bc we can't always be vigilant) effectively operates on disclosure. But between us, the polorizing nature of genAI assets, and hence their widespread distain, is well-known. The joke is funny, it is good to do quick things to try to make people smile -- but there were quick ways to do it that wouldn't have made anyone frown either.
