If you want a full-service bank account, you’re going to have to deal with an in-person situation at least once.

Sometimes I look at how much destruction is happening in the world in the name of a minimally talented bigot and the mediocre rip off wizard universe she created, and I get angry at myself for never trying to publish any of my original fiction.

I was going to have a cup of tea but my morning teacup is missing. Of course I have other teacups, but in the morning, tea in any other teacup seems wrong. I much prefer my morning teacup. I used it last on Wednesday. But it is not in the cupboard, nor in the dish drainer. It is not sitting by the kettle waiting for water. No one else has had access to my teacup to mislay or abscond with it so its disappearance is my own doing.

I am quite vexed with myself.

Apparently FaceID on the iPhone 14 is sophisticated enough that it just identified me mid-sneeze. I’m not sure if that’s good or terrifying. I’ve seen myself mid-sneeze. I look like a bulldog.

@QuickWeasel I don’t even want him to disappear, I just want for the criticism of his bigotry to be taken seriously and amplified as loudly as the horrible things he says. He has a bully pulpit, and the people he is harming have nothing.

@Crell that’s just my point. There is no such thing as cancel culture. This is just basic wrongheaded persecution.

@sinboy that’s disturbing. I understand why RDJ believes in the power of second chances and not throwing people away, but he put in a lot of work himself to get his life back, and unlike Hammer, he didn’t abuse anyone AFAIK, except himself.

If anyone tries to tell you that cancel culture is a real thing, remind them that in 2022 admitted sexual predator Louis CK won the Grammy award for best comedy album and in 2023 it went to proud transphobe and antisemite Dave Chapelle.

Cancelling isn’t and never has been real.
