Oil and gas is less than 4% of Australian GDP. As for coal, if we're now referring to that as petroleum, then words really have lost all meaning.
Note that I'm not defending those industries by any means - Australia is ideally placed to go solar.

Sorry to be pedantic, but "petrostate" refers to a country whose economy is dependent on oil exports, like Russia or Saudi Arabia. We could even say Canada is one for the sake of argument, or to make a point. Australia though is definitely not.

Hi all - I'm a recent migrant from another instance that had a much higher character limit (1024 versus 500). 1000 is comfortable but 500 is low enough that I find myself bumping into it quite often. Any chance of increasing that?
