The people who worry about the distortion of market incentives for giving food to poor people don’t seem to worry about the distortion of market incentives that comes from bombing a different set of poor people. What do we prioritize? What are we trying to accomplish? A system that maximizes bombing over feeding its own citizens is fucked up.

@RecDiffs I thought it was an interesting detail that the pullup bar wasn’t just set dressing. Sarah stood her bed on its end to make exercise equipment. The orderlies even mention the mess she’d made of her room. She’s not just making use of what she has, but actively ruining what little comfort she might have, to prepare for what’s coming.
