@the_blackwell_ninja Same process the world over. The greed of the wealthy is reversing decades of slow improvement in our standards of living & life expectancy. Their control of every aspect of our lives always existed, but where they were held vaguely responsible for their actions, today they aren't bothered if their actions cause us harm, & they buy politicians who change laws to ensure they'll never be held accountable & that its their wealth, not our lives or rights, that's protected.

Right-wing politicians seem perfectly happy to inflict cruelty as a means to subjugate scapegoats, increase their own control & inflate their own personal wealth.

Beware those that promote these ideologies...

...for it reveals how little they value your rights...or your freedom

Most companies making vast profits also pay their staff pitiful wages.

Their staff end up claiming Universal Credit in order to survive.

UC is funded from taxation which the greedy companies (& wealthy tax avoiders) avoid paying.

Which means we're subsidising greedy parasites that buy right-wing politicians.

Those right-wing politicians scapegoat the poorest & most vulnerable in society to distract people from the inequalities caused by greedy companies & tax avoiders that hoard vast wealth.

Elected because Tories had created a shambles by neglecting everything they couldn't cut or steal, Labour inherited debt & failure.

So instead of making lives better, they've tried, & failed, to be more Tory than the Tories.

...Maybe it's time Labour were the Labour we wanted when we elected them.

Imagine the deals, benefits & freedoms the EU gave us were represented by a bowl of water.

Brexit meant the UK tipped out all of the water & we replaced the bowl with a sieve...

...& ever since, Brexiters have tried to convince us that Brexit still holds water.

...plus, it's consequences hide in plain sight & no one ever mentions the cause or questions how the wealthy got away with the Brexit scam.

If you're thinking of voting Reform & you or your family receive healthcare or take medicine, think again.

Reform will abolish free healthcare. It's their policy.

You'll need insurance but existing conditions aren't covered...& you'll pay the full manufacturer price for meds.

He imports toxic orange soil from the US, makes you pay extra for sunlight & rain, & destroys the garden but blames the neighbours.

& he's never around to do the work, but always appears when it's pay day.

Then, once elected, Reform triumphantly announce they've solved the problem they invented.

That they only exist in the minds of Reform voters is irrelevant as reality & Reform don't inhabit the same space.

@Thebratdragon@mastodon.scot Absolutely. It's ironic that the largest recipients of public money are the wealthy who coincidentally won't pay their share of taxes but will happily donate to a right-wing politician to ensure the tax policies don't change & that they keep receiving their free money.

Support for the sick & elderly to make their lives less bleak & minimise suffering... That's unaffordable. Tax cuts for the rich, subsidies & tax breaks for profitable companies to boost profits of tax avoiders... No problem. Expenses, perks & secret donations for the wealthy...that's sooo necessary. Who pays? The poor. Just cut their services...

Reform highlight the vast cost of UC & draw attention to proposals to cut it from some claimants, but...

They don't mention that many need to claim while working full time just to afford food.

That's because many businesses (& Tory/Reform donors) avoid tax & pay minimum wage to increase profits.

To decide whether a politician is trustworthy, ask yourself, do they serve the public interest or their own self interest.

Those that change their colours & therefore their principles, at the drop of a hat, or rejected politicians desperate to get reelected, are wronguns...& Reform is full of them.
