@anolandria@mastodon.social Conservatives also view obedience as being the same thing as morals. It's why they view anyone who isn't obedient to the same rules they claim to obey as being immoral. So to them, a family not built on obedience is a corrupt and immoral family.

@Lana@beige.party Yep, Star Trek was always supposed to be woke. It hasn't always succeeded at being woke, and has regularly failed to be as woke as many people would like, but being woke has always been the point.

I’ve participated in many protest over the past year. Today was a small impromptu one of mostly women. I was the only tall white guy there, and it became very clear just how much my presence upset the right-wing man-babies. They yelled at me directly trying to attack my masculinity. It was comical, and I’m glad I was there.

@mhoye@cosocial.ca @AnarchoNinaWrites@jorts.horse absolutely! Inconsistent rules/standards, hypocrisy, and ignoring logic and reason are key traits of authoritarianism, and the right is all about authoritarianism in every aspect of life. With a dash of permissiveness thrown in for white males of course. They’ve been trained since birth the think this shit is normal and good. There’s a reason dev-psych has authoritarian as one of the 4 parenting categories.

I'm looking into registering my own domain and moving to a non-US based email provider. I've seen positives and negative around Protonmail. What non-US based emails providers do people recommend?

@samreich@mastodon.online Pretty much anything @LoadingReadyRun@kind.social has done or will do. @loadingreadyrun@www.youtube.com Road Quest is the first show from LRR that comes to mind, as it's complete, for now, but it would be great to see another series of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFVMs4Ru_jI&list=PLV_qemO0oath2Wpt7-8jQMT2yChOf9mjs Honestly, I'd love to see DropOut do any sort of work with LRR. You've both already worked with a lot of the same people.

@sunguramy@flipping.rocks thank you for this. NASA does amazing things with a comparatively tiny budget and not enough people talk about the benefits of what they do.
