Spain and France are facing an unprecedented wildfire emergency.

Thousands of hectares have burned, and more than 320,000 people have been evacuated.

Behind these numbers are families forced to leave everything behind, firefighters battling impossible conditions, and communities watching their forests, mountains and homes go up in flames.

Our full solidarity goes to everyone affected and to the emergency services working tirelessly on the front lines.

The climate crisis is here. Europe must respond together through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
