In other news, a couple weeks ago I discovered an old book from the '80s called Architect of Sleep about a human who gets isekai'd to a parallel Earth where raccoons were the ones who evolved into civilization instead of humans. I really love the world building and setting and the raccoon characters so much, and the communication since the raccoons can't speak vocally so they all use sign language. Sadly the book ends on a cliffhanger, and was supposed to be part of a trilogy but never got completed (due to various conflicting reasons I've discovered while searching out information)
