@verymetalsite @chessert @nixCraft Don't get me wrong it's a gamebreaker for me too i hate AI especially in OS lvl. I am against Ubuntu's decisions for years that's why i don't use Ubuntu or Ubuntu based distro for years. My point is just because it has AI i won't stop using Linux overall or this won't change my perspective over Linux because alternatives are way worse than Linux and Linux is still superior choice over them for me.

@dansup I am not an expert on the topic myself my comments was just suggestion but my guess is maybe this chronological feed wouldn't be affected by rating system and purely just show the videos similar to followed page and curates videos by solely posting date. It's just an suggestion like i said.

@dansup@mastodon.social I think main criticizing point of algorithm isn't about it being close or open source rather having an algorithm to begin with. Because by their nature algorithms in social media is predatory but i also get it why it exists in Loops because unlike Mastodon and Pixelfed short form platform can't live out with chronological feed. Open sourcing algorithm and making it public knowledge is great start but i think we should have chronological for you feed as well because Loops lacks it (or at least web version because i couldn't see in settings). Overall Loops and Loops algorithm is a great addition to Fedi and should be more accepted by people i believe.

@pavled @eickot @nixCraft Same here. I always close every possible telemetry unless it's a just beginned open source app or some trusted app like Steam. Also boosting the numbers for giving people courage is a big plus.

@eickot @nixCraft If they use Steam Steam already gets the data to define if game will run on your OS so they shouldn't use native app and use Lutris or some other platforms. But i don't think it'll be drastic change 0.5% at max because people trust Valve and Steam.

@alannyta@mastodon.social So many reasons to be honest. For starters app is getting filled with AI even tho it has a toggle for AI photos it only works in main feed and not in search (which i spend most of my time), second one is app doesn't moderate the photos like it used to. I've been using this app for a decade now and i search for comicbook and game characters a lot and since last year app shows so many R34 content even tho i flag them as inappropriate and not interested. Third is app doesn't let you save photos without account and this is getting on my nerves a lot because i try to push myself away from corporate social medias and monopolies overall. I don't actually know any controversy about the app or company mine is mostly personal choice.

@dansup@mastodon.social This would be the best thing for me. I frequently use Pinterest for wallpapers or for media i use in posts and my daily life. This would be great way to remove Pinterest from my life.
