But not as stupid as making half your company "VP" which a lot of companies also do. Job titles are almost always stupid. The H1B visa should be abolished, but the government needs to at least raise their minimum pay to $200k or something. H1B was meant for highly skilled workers. $53k is not what highly skilled workers make in 2026.

Then I actually read it and turns out it's all about race and societal decline. Almost all of it.

@catmanmancat Twenty five years ago some footage leaked from a training given by a lawfirm that did visa work. It showed how to skirt h1b regs and get approved anyway. Everyone on slashdot was outraged. Absolutely no one from that lawfirm got in trouble. None of their corporate clients got in trouble. No one in the government changed any policies at all as a result. It would not surprise me at all if these numbers were completely fake and the actual number of issued h1b visas was far higher.
