My cost savings guess on this new laptop is colorful plastic cases. It would serve a few purposes. I would expect that is much cheaper long term and making it only in colorful colors would probably exclude it from most business purchases while be popular with the younger crowd.
Apple hates color though, so you are probably right, we will get multiple silver M1 case laptops with the slightest splash of color.

@shantini@techhub.social we export a ton of corn, soybeans, and I believe pork. I lived in a pretty rural area during Trumps last admin. The tariffs were devastating to the community until Trump bailed them out. Guess who they all voted for again…..

I’ve been using #plex for over a decade. For some reason I’ve slept on #plexamp because I through streaming was all I needed. After hearing several people talk favorably about it I decided to throw my old collection in it. What a fantastic app! I feel like I’ve rediscovered a ton of music I love. The DJs and Stations are really fun and well done. It’s just a joy to use. Check it out if you have an old music library lying around.

Here is a new one. The first album in this photo clearly has the wrong date. I can adjust the date on the Mac, but it only registers on iOS devices if I raise it. Lowering the date does nothing. So I guess OK Computer came from the future in my world.

How, in the year 2025, does marking an artist as a Favorite in Apple Music still cause track 1 to become the last track of the previous album in your library on MacOS? It’s been at least 2 years.

@jsnell@zeppelin.flights @daringfireball@mastodon.social the whole situation is maddening. Guess what doesn’t have this issue? Pirated media, which is trivial to obtain. Like @gruber@mastodon.social said, no one is pirating by taking screen shots, or even screen recordings.
Same goes for Vision Pro. What in the world does blacking out the stream when airplaying the AVP accomplish, except annoying people trying to show people the platform? Are they honestly worried about people pirating off the AVP feed? 😆

Has anyone else noticed the Facebook feed has gone hard into right wing memes? I almost never used to see them. The past month I’ve had to hit not interested on probably 40 of them.

@caseyliss@mastodon.social you made me dive down the MQTT rabbit hole. If you are looking for a fun project Tautulli can fire off MQTT messages based on Plex playback status. I’ve got lights adjusting on playback start, stop, pause, and credits starting. It’s really made my home theater room feel fancy.

Or you can really rabbit hole and setup a Plex integration in Kodi. You can customize that to your hearts content. That is what I run in my main home theater room.

@caseyliss@mastodon.social kind of off topic, but how is the Callsheet and Plex integration supposed to work? Channels is pretty reliable for me, but I’ve never gotten Plex to show up. I was just curious how it’s supposed to work, since typically you have to enter an API key into an app to get it to poll Plex.
