@elaterite@fosstodon.org I think the framing of the Orca is perfect. Red, white, black, and silver. That extra line of black would have been distracting. I would have done it if I had used just a silver frame.

I did picture framing from 1974-1993. The last decade we did a lot of restoration work and that included gold leaf, a lot of gold leaf work. Rebuilding plaster parts, and recreating pieces of burnished gold, it was fun, but always a challenge. I got divorced and completely moved on she kept the biz.

@elaterite@fosstodon.org I was all about painted bevels. I would often, it not the majority of the time, sell a top mat with a painted bevel and an inner mat, thus creating three colors plus the frame. I also made reverse glass mats with gold leaf. This one frame shop I worked at had a silver and gold version of a frame with a flat central area. We often painted that area a custom color for customers. One shop I worked at the owner stopped coming to work because the framing I sold was better and higher value.

@ashleyspencer@autistics.life You know, this is a perfect lesson in marketing. All this time I've looked at your site I did not know you sold these shirts. Perhaps, if you don't know how (I don't to be honest) ask someone, but perhaps you could feature a different section of your store up front each time people hit the home page. That would introduce people (like me) to the diversity of what you offer. I got hung up on your fidgit items and didn't see further into your store. I imagine others get stuck too.

@TarkabarkaHolgy And I'll add to this an equally critical piece. The thing you are fighting and others are not isn't more important than their fight. We are parallel fighting, not working at crossed purposes. The Gaza protests proved this point. People protesting those were so single focused they blamed the rest of us for supporting the "genocide" because we weren't equally upset by it. Wrong, we were fighting other fights of equal import.
